Visit the ruins of Okoř castle – one of most beautiful old Czech castles and just a few kilometres from Prague. Then go to Buštěhrad that used to be home to Ota Pavel, a well-known Czech writer during WWII and the holocaust. You should also not miss the mining exposition or gardens featuring bears at Chateau Kladno. Continue to the mining museum in Vinařice that shows local mining and metallurgical heritage. Also originally gothic, lately in baroque style redesigned in village of Pchery, built in 14th century, is worth visiting. Through Vinařice we continue to Libušín, where large complex of Shoeller mine attracts heavy industry fans. Also, this is the place where coal extraction in Kladensko regin ended in 2002. Next go to the museum of the first Czechoslovakian president, T.G. Masaryk that is a must-see for anyone celebrating the centennial of the founding of the Czechoslovakian state. Finally, visit Turyňlake in Kamenné Žehrovice. The lake is a nature preserve and home to various kinds of birds.
